C. is a strong boy with deep rooted morals and a gentle heart. When I look at him; he could be nothing else than a soldier. It is who he is. It is Gods plan.
B. has been in the military for quite some time already and I can say the same about him. When I look at him or hear him speak; he can be nothing else. Yes. Both men are also brothers, siblings, Christians, a husband (B), and friends to many. But when you see them they are wired to be military.
It doesn't make it easy on a mom/step-mom. I have learned over the years that even if they chose a different path they could easily be brought home to heaven any given moment. I have learned that His greater plan is at work.
I can truly smile knowing they are both a great gift God has blessed me with. I thank all military for their service, exhaustion, fatigue, and protection of our country. I also pray and have moments of silence for the families left behind. For the mothers ringing their hands, for the wives/husbands raising their children, and for the children waiting for their parent (s) return.

On my knitting needles are the arm warmers I am designing for the fall collection for moms! I saw a while back an article on warmers. I am one who is generally chilled all the time. I am usually bundled under a blanket or pulling my sleeves over my hands. Yes, even in the summer a cool breeze can send me running for the covers!
A light bulb went off in my mind and ended me with yet another sleepless night. Why not make a cozy for our arms! The tricky part is figuring out the math of how our arms are thinner at the wrist and wider at the elbow. And trying to figure this on a calculator is as hard as a squirrel trying to store acorns for the winter.
I ended up with warmers on my arms and a counter clicking away the rows and a pencil between my lips! Thank goodness the husband was at work, the children in school and the only witness to this are our dogs:)
I attempted the button hole opening for the thumb ( left it too tight). I tried the bind off cast on second row method ( didn't like how it pulled). I realized that the problem wasn't the method but the thumb itself. A thumb opening stops the arm warmer from covering the thumb. I bet you figured out where this is going?! Yep, just one long tube with different cast on and bind off stitch patterns! I am so anxious to pick out the fibers for these!
